Matrix Calculations in Excel

This chapter is devoted to Excel, which is a popular environment for calculations, analysis, and graphic representation of data. The goal is to present the main Excel features used for data processing. The main focus is on operations with the multivariate data and matrix calculations. A special section is dedicated to Add-In programs, which extend the Excel possibilities. This text is not a comprehensive Excel manual but only a short introduction. Detailed Excel features are explained elsewhere in numerous books and articles listed in Chapter 4. Information presented here refers to the basic properties of Excel 2003 and Excel 2007. This chapter is written mainly for Excel 2003 users. Features essential for Excel 2007 are discussed separately in the text.
