A Study of Cases: Evaluating Requirements
Tony Jewels, Wendy Jones, Marilyn Ford · Journal of the Association for Information Systems · 2003
In adopting a pedagogy that attempts to simulate a ‘real-world’ environment, the School of Information Systems \tat one university is using an integrated case method approach using a single case study as a core component in \tits delivery of an IT project management (ITPM) unit. Using any single case study in this manner requires that \tthe case itself be rigorous enough to support the desired learning outcomes. An investigation into what qualities \tare required from such cases is undertaken, and a comparison made with those of the actual case study being \tused in the unit, with the intention of contributing towards the development of a model for determining the ideal \trequirements for cases used in this manner, to support the achievement of learning objectives.
