Quantum dot networks with weighted coupling

Koray Karahaliloğlu, Sina Balkır · 2003

The capabilities of a particular quantum dot network with weighted dot coupling is investigated. A network configuration method is introduced for large scale applications. The method is based on using template images in order to assign weighted coupling between the dot pairs. A symmetrical update rule is defined for the coupling conductances as a function of the template image data. The described method is incorporated into a dedicated simulator, and the configured networks are simulated at the circuit-system level. It is shown that additional image processing capabilities like the line and motion detection are possible with such configurations of the quantum dot network connectivity.
