LMF and its Implementation in Some Asian Languages

This chapter aims at creating a common standard for Asian language resources that is compatible with an international standard – lexical markup framework (LMF). In particular, it focuses on following issues: lexical specification and data categories (DC) relevant for building multilingual lexical resources for some Asian languages, including Chinese, Japanese and Thai; a core upper-layer ontology needed for ensuring multilingual interoperability; and the evaluation platform used to test the entire architectural framework.
