Detection of signal with unknown parameters using optimum wavelet receiver

We propose an optimal receiver based on the discrete wavelet transform. To characterize transients in a time-varying signal, an architecture of the optimum wavelet receiver is given. We discuss some issues on the detection and estimation of unknown parameters.
