Perspectives and Criticisms
Xavier Lorca · 2011
This is the final chapter of the book, which deals with trees and paths as motives for partitioning while an important issue relies on the unification of the set of motives to be able to factor in the filtering algorithms in the best possible way, all to be in agreement with concerns of flexibility and scalability that are important in constraint programming. It gives an outline of the perspectives and the problems left unsolved in the book. A complete filtering of a graph linked to the proper-tree constraint is possible, when K is fixed at 1. The study of the interaction between the variables L and K within the extended-tree constraint also seems to be a very interesting problem since the interaction between these two parameters is often at the heart of the model linked to complex problems.
