R.L. King · 2001
The Environmental Assessment, Integration, and Streamlining Consortium includes four universities and four technology application partners. Mississippi State University is the leader of the consortium. Other participating universities include the University of Alabama in Huntsville, University of Mississippi, and Auburn University. The technology application partners are Universities Space Research Association, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center, EarthWatch, and Intermap Technologies Corporation. The primary mission of this consortium is to develop and promote the use of remote-sensing and geospatial technologies and requisite analysis products by transportation decision makers and environmental assessment specialists to measure, monitor, and assess environmental conditions in relation to the transportation infrastructure. This conference presentation discusses the goals of the consortium and describes the projects being conducted at the three initial study areas.
