Will-be-set-by-IN-TECHanalysis of the four essential architectural parameters (such as the size of the window of the arithmetic mean and median filters, the maximal disparity and the window size for the Census Transform), is carried out to obtain the best trade off between consumed resources and the disparity map accuracy. We vary these parameters and show a graphical representation of the consumed resources versus the desired performance for different extended architectures. From these curves, we can easily select the most appropriate architecture for our application.Furthermore, we develop a practical application of the obtained disparity map to tackle the problem of 3D environment reconstruction using the back-projection technique.Experimental performance results are compared to those of related architectures.
