Automatic Measurement System for Car Audio Applications

The paper describes a new measurement system for the evaluation of the objective performances of a car audio apparatus. The system makes use of a 4-channels sound board fitted in a low-cost PC, which drives separately the 4 loudspeaker sections of the car. The excitation signal is a periodic maximum length sequence. The response of the system is sampled simultaneously with 2 binaural dummy heads. The complete test takes less than 1 minute, thanks to a software specifically developed for this task.
