Operation and Management of Wireless Access Networks

Martin P. Clark · 2001

Efficient operation, administration and management is critical to the overall economics and performance of telecommunications networks. This chapter considers the activities which need to be supported in the case of a fixed wireless access network. The discussion is structured around the description and specification of a software tool designed to support the operational activities. The chapter concludes with a review of the ideal procedures, protocols and tools making up a modern ‘Telecommunications Management Network (TMN)’.
