Σ-Δ modulator-based linear phase IIR filters

The application of sigma-delta modulation to oversampled, block-processed linear phase IIR filters is suggested as a means of achieving considerable savings in hardware. Architectures are described which eliminate the impulsive noise arising from the block reversal of oversampled data.
