The principal goal of our participation in TREC 6 is to compare the following two pairs of approachs: 1- for French and cross-linguage retrieval: the classical approach based on words and our approach using terms from a terminological base and automatically built terms. 2- For Chinese retrieval: the approach using bigrams and the approach using word segmentation.
