Geometrical Signal Representations
Eugen Georg Woschni · Handbook of Measuring System Design · 2005
Abstract The description of signals in the signal space uses modern geometry to obtain a measure concerning the distance of two or more signals. Distance is related to error and is applied in these cases and in classification situations. While analog signals use the Euclidean space, digital signals are represented in a non‐Euclidean space with direct relation to the Hamming distance. Codegraph representation of this is applied in coding theory.
