Spatial and Temporal Information Retrieval in Textual Corpora

Christian Sallaberry · 2013

This chapter review a subset of issues, hypotheses and research objectives for information retrieval (IR), followed by propositions found in published literature dealing with the problem of space and time in the processes of annotation and indexing of texts as well as in those of IR. The chapter then describes the authors' propositions for indexing together with the spatial and temporal IR. An overview of the authors' contributions and their perspectives are finally presented. The main objective of these processes is the creation of indexes supporting spatial and temporal IR scenarios in textual document corpora. The PIV prototype implements these propositions.
