Abstract Instrumentation using computers is pervasive. This module introduces this type of instrumentation by summarizing the important aspects of data communication standards, equipment, and methods. Instrumentation interfaces are classified on the basis of data rate and distance. Close proximity, intermediate distance, and large distance communication are considered.
