Abstract This paper considers consensus problem for high‐order multi‐agent systems with dynamically changing topologies and nonuniform time‐varying delays. By means of the tree‐type transformation approach, the model transformation is conducted and the consensus problem is converted into anL2 − L∞control problem of equivalent reduced‐order systems. Furthermore, aLyapunov‐Krasovkii function is constructed for stability analysis and sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities are derived to ensure the consensus with the prescribedL2 − L∞performance. A numerical simulation is provided to verify the correctness of the theoretical results.
