Tracing session activity is at the heart of most SQL performance tuning exercises. Oracle provides a rich set of tools to trace SQL activity. This chapter introduces the Oracle SQL trace facility and shows you how to set up SQL tracing in your environment. Oracle provides numerous “events” that help you perform various types of traces. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
