The Noise Resistance of a Balanced Amplifier

Y. Biran · 2005

The noise resistance of a balanced amplifier is derived, using a multiple reflection technique. The result indicates that the noise figure of a balanced amplifier is more sensitive to the source admittance, than the noise figure of the single stage. A byproduct of this work is an equivalent expression for the noise figure, that includes a true indicator for the noise figure sensitivity to the source admittance.
