Generating Facial Expressions with Deep Belief Nets

In this chapter we showed that it is possible to train a deep belief net with multiple layers of features to function as an animation system capable of converting high-level descriptions of facial attributes into realistic face images. By specifying particular labels to the DBN, we were able to generate realistic faces displaying specific identities and facial actions.
