LMF Experiments on Format Conversions for Resource Merging: Converters and Problems

Marta Villegas, Muntsa Padró, Núria Bel · 2013

This chapter deals with how the lexical markup framework (LMF), intended to be a common model for lexical resources, supports the exchange of data and enables the merging of individual resources to form larger resources. It provides report, on the one hand, about the experiments on automatic merging of resources. In such experiments, the availability of LMF-based lexica (original or converted) made possible the implementation of a merging mechanism that compares two lexica and combines them. On the other hand, the chapter also reports on the exercise carried out to create a mapper/converter of the PAROLE/SIMPLE lexicon family into the LMF.
