Design and Analysis Using a Combined TAD-HTPN Real-Time System Modelling Approach

. In this paper, a combined Task Architecture DiagramHierarchical Timed Petri Net (TAD-HTPN) based real-time system modelling approach is established. This approach provides us with a set of guidelines to distribute a large-scale system model into hierarchies of subsystems modelling concurrent tasks and data stores of the real-time system. The Design Approach for Real-Time Systems is used to perform a structured analysis and structure the system tasks in the TAD model, which is then mapped to a top-level HTPN model. Using a top-down design method, each task is decomposed into a lower level HTPN and the temporal information for each task is estimated from the breakdown timings of the corresponding HTPN subsystems.
