It is proved for each d d , 1 ≤ d ≤ n − 1 1 \le d \le n-1 , that a primary 0 0 -dimensional scheme in P n \mathbb {P}^{n} of degree n + 2 + d n+2+d in linearly general position lies in a rational normal scroll of dimension d d .
