Simulation framework requirements and methodologies in automated highway planning

Farokh H. Eskafi, Aleks Göllü · Transactions of The Society for Computer Simulation International · 1997

This paper discusses the requirements for specification, simulation and evaluation frameworks for the modeling and control of large and heterogeneous dynamic systems. Focus is on automated highway systems (AHS) and automated vehicle planning. Simulation framework requirements for such systems are illustrated with benchmark scenarios in AHS planning. The SHIFT language, which has been developed to address these requirements, is briefly introduced.
