Sliding modes in hybrid systems-a semigroup approach

The purpose of the paper is to study the sliding mode phenomenon in the wide class of systems with both continuous and discrete type of memory and provide the more refined description of the sliding including the chattering. It is shown that such systems can be represented as groups, or monoids.>
