Agility and Mobility are the two intertwined topics in the modern enterprise scenario. While Mobility is helping organizations to become nimble and agile, the corporates themselves need to be agile to adapt Mobility for the corporate business. With the proliferation of the mobile devices and devices today coming with strong computing power, they are not only displacing the laptops but also proliferating beyond the size of laptop market. Displacement of Laptops by the mobile devices, replacement of the offline Business Intelligence (BI) reports to real time online reports made possible through anywhere and all the time connected mobile devices and taking the computing to the new places with the help of location based and location aware services of the mobile devices has become a new mantra of corporates. While Mobility brings many benefits as an enabler for the corporate IT, it comes with its own challenges. The successful development of mobile applications in an enterprise is challenged by several of software's nastiest development and deployment landmines that include volatile platforms, intermittent connections, varied devices, and demanding and inconsistent user-interface. The mobile infrastructure is posing a threat to successful deployment which is compounded by the volume of the devices and the users bringing their own devices (BYOD). This paper discusses in detail about how using agile methodology is suitable for mobile application development, and also suggests the best practices for mobile application development and delivery.
