Abstract : The design of an intelligent multidisk control module for VME bus based systems is presented. The control module is designed to support concurrent disk operations on up to four flexible disk drives with multiple VME bus MASTERS. The design is presented for a UNIX compatible operating system but the operating system interface is kept simple enough that the multidisk control module can be used with most modern operating systems with minimal changes required.
