Families of Discrete Distributions
Norman Lloyd Johnson, Adrienne W. Kemp, Samuel Kotz · Wiley series in probability and statistics · 2005
Chapter 2 introduces the major families of discrete distributions, beginning with a definition of a lattice distribution and proceeding immediately to the essential properties of power series, generalized power series, and modified power series distributions. The third section on difference equation systems now includes the important Sundt and Jewell family. The material on the Kemp GHP and GHFM distributions is retained. Short sections introduce more detailed discussions elsewhere in the book concerning Lagrangian families, order-k distributions, and q-series distributions.
