Anticipation in belief formation systems based on evidence

Tetsuya Murai · AIP conference proceedings · 2001

Anticipation for forming belief and conviction is considered in belief formation systems formulated in the doxastic logical framework based on the Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence. First, a belief model based on evidence is reviewed, then a belief formation system is defined as a series of the kind of belief models along time. Finally, it is shown that such system can suggest several pieces of evidence that should be sought next, which means the system has a characteristic of anticipation of which possible goal may be reached.
