Test of Auxiliary Monitoring System in Smart Substation

In order to build highly reliable smart substation, the video monitoring system and many environmental monitoring systems are integrated to support the operation of smart substation. These systems are expected to act in a correlated manner, to enhance the security and effectively prevent any accidents. However, it is highly complex to test if these integrated systems would function as designed. In order to test the function and performance of auxiliary systems, a simulation based testing approach is proposed. The test of video surveillance system and test of video linkage system based on simulation are presented.
