A Threshold Detection Method of DSSS Signal Based on STFT

Based on the periodicity of DSSS signal's short-time Fourier transform (STFT) spectrum, a periodical variance threshold searching method of periodical pulse is presented. To the IS-95CDMA signal, when SNR is -13 dB, its detection probability is above 89%. This method doesn't use any prior information such as signal's carrier frequency, spreading code and etc. It is easy to implement and to use in practice.
