Interrelations between Types of Analysis and Types of Interpretation

Karl M. van Meter · 2013

This chapter develops a general outline of research in human and social sciences (HSS) to try to grasp its complexity without reducing its great diversity. It takes into account the important role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the use of this general outline and in the study of interrelations between types of analysis and types of interpretation in HSS . The chapter mentions certain issues that future researchers could address. The general outline that the chapter talking about could also be called an “analysis path”. It limits it in a first instance to the field of statistical analysis in social sciences. The concept of interlanguage developed by Berthelot may not be completely lost, however, since a “common denominator” exists thanks to the presence of the computer and its software, and the current requirement consisting of converting the scientific approach into a computerized procedure built from modules.
