is collaborative process where teacher/ tutor/ instructor and student work together. Loosing face to face audiovisual communication in electronic and distant learning can be replaced by a video conference. Another possibility is to use embodied conversational agents with the ability to synthesize human speech and simulate facial expressions (talking head). This paper summarizes the state of the art in modeling and animation of human face expressions and shows some results achieved in this field at the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies, STU in Bratislava.
