Reality check: working with meaningful projects in and out of the classroom
Paula Gabbert, Kevin Treu · Journal of computing sciences in colleges · 2001

This paper describes two approaches to making such projects a part of the student experience. One is in a classroom setting, the other in a supervised internship program.
