Hybrid nonlinear moments subspace processing for wireless communication systems using antenna arrays
M. Martone · 2002
The use of hybrid nonlinear moments (HNL) is proposed to estimate the multipath channels in a mobile radio communication system using the vector outputs of a multielement receiver. The method we propose uses the outputs of the array to extract noise/signal subspaces and estimate the multiple channels, following the basic idea of Moulines, Duhamel, Cardoso and Mayrargue (see IEEE Trans. Signal Processing, vol.43, no.2, 1995) but exploiting a different statistics. The method is attractive since it does not present the computational complexity exhibited by cumulant-based array processing techniques (for particular choices of the zero memory nonlinear function) and because, being high order statistics based, has the ability to identify non-minimum phase systems.
