Chapter Six. Sentence Level Analysis

Thattil Umbavu Varghese Joseph · 2007

Judging from the presence or absence of a verb form, Rabha sentences can be divided into those in which the verb plays a central role and those that do not have a verb at all. The vast majority of complete Rabha sentences have a finite verb as its central and most important element. In such sentences the finite verb alone is the necessary item. The most natural and preferred Rabha word order is S-O-V. A typical Rabha sentence consists of one or more nouns along with a finite verb. This chapter illustrates a pictorial representation of structure of noun and verb forms. Keywords: finite verb; Rabha sentence
