Testing Quantum Memories Via Entanglement Verification

Hauke Häseler, Norbert Lütkenhaus, Alexander I. Lvovsky · AIP conference proceedings · 2009

We present a general criterion for a quantum device such as a quantum memory to work in a non‐classical regime. The criterion is based on the verification of effective entanglement and requires only a very small amount of resources. We apply the test to quantum memories for squeezed light and obtain results in terms of second moments of measured quadratures of the retrieved states. These results are checked against optimized classical storage strategies.
