Observer-based control of discrete material flow processes
D. Franke · 2002
Discrete processes with a finite number of states have been addressed which can be modelled by the state equations of a finite automaton. In contrast to traditional work, the paper is based on arithmetic notations of Boolean functions appearing on the right hand side of the underlying finite state equations. This allows a unifying view on discrete-event systems and classical discrete-time systems. The paper focusses on the special class of arithmetically linear finite state machines having multicomponent material flow processes in mind. It has been shown that for this type of systems the well established classical linear state space theory can be adopted in a direct manner.
