AUTOMATED DATA COLLECTION, ANALYSIS, AND ARCHIVAL

This study examines multiple transportation management system (TMS) data application purposes. It establishes guidelines for developing a TMS data archival, analysis, and retrieval system which makes data available to users in Utah. The study focused on four objectives: 1) conducting a review of nationwide data collection,analysis, and archival practices; 2) identifying user requirements inside and outside of the Utah Department of Transportation; 3) developing the TMS information system architecture; and, 4) providing recommendations for implementation in the system.
