Orthogonal polarization switching as applied to Bluetooth system in mobile phone interference environment

Settapong Malisuwan, K. Rosesukon, T. Iamsinthom, P. Siwalai · 2004

The topic of coexistence between Bluetooth and other communication systems has been addressed in the literature. In this paper, the effects of EM radiation from the 3/sup rd/ harmonic of an 800 MHz mobile phone, in the transmission mode, on the relevant performance impairment are determined. The measurement of harmonic emission level of a GSM 800 mobile phone was conducted at the FCC certified (3 m anechoic chamber), FAU EMI R&D Laboratory. Furthermore, in this research, a polarization-switching strategy is utilized to overcome the influence of EMI due to unintentional signals from the mobile phone system.
