This book includes definitions of bookbinding terms and discussion of workshop tools, equipment, and materials and gives detailed descriptions and illustrations on alternatives to resewing, and the whole rebinding procedure. There is also a section on repairing caoutchouc bindings with poly(vinyl acetate), and cords or a lining cloth. Suggestions (not universally accepted) for staining and aging of added paper and leather are given.
