This chapter presents how test cases using several test components can be written. It focuses on how test components can be created and how the ports of the test components can be connected. Test configurations in The Testing and Test Control Notation Version3 (TTCN-3) are dynamic. The chapter starts by presenting the extended domain name system (DNS) example. It describes test components and their operations as the first part of test configurations. The chapter presents the second part of test configurations, the connections between ports and how these can be established. Component type extensions, are introduced and also some miscellaneous port operations are presented. Finally, the chapter shows how TTCN-3 allows the use of addresses that refer to entities in the system under test (SUT). A multi component TTCN-3 test case starts with the execution of main test component (MTC) behaviour as in the single component case.
