100 Mbit per second VLSI implementation of sliding window coding

L.C. Benschop · 2002

A VLSI circuit is being designed that performs lossless compression and decompression of computer files. The compression ratio must be comparable to that of widely used software methods (2.9 bits/byte) and the speed must be 100 Megabit per second (rate of uncompressed data). Further the design must be sufficiently generic so that it can be adapted to specific requirements.
