Architecture and Quality of Software Systems
Nicole Lévy, Francisca Losavio, Yann Pollet · 2014
Our purpose is to study how knowledge capitalization related to a given functional domain can achieve the desired objective, namely good quality architecture. This chapter introduces the concept of quality of architectures, and presents the proposed approach, ISO, of quality-driven architecture development. It applies this approach for reference architecture development for a functional domain, and then for a specific software system. The chapter develops a real case study from the health sector to illustrate the overall approach, and describes related work of quality architecture. Thus, to define the system, the first step is to define its functional domain, and then to derive from it its specific architecture. The author applies the two steps in the case study resulting from the professional healthcare sector, the development of both the Dopamine and the Samarkand systems that aim at sharing patient records.
