Strategies for Integrating and Separating Pen-Based Operational States.

This paper focusses on pen-based operational states -- operand specification, menu opening, menu selection and execution -- and shows that there exist eight strategies for integrating and separating these operational states. An experiment was conducted to determine which of these eight strategies and menu shape are better, and statistically significant differences were found among these strategies, and among the two menu shapes.
