A Study on RCM Method for Optimal Maintenance of Power Distribution System

We proposed the optimal maintenance strategies at power distribution system equipment using reliability-centered maintenance method. First, we developed the improved decision model based on Markov theory. This model has deterioration stage representing the equipment aging and uses the constant failure rates. Also this model can find out the optimal inspection interval according to the total expected cost. Whether doing maintenance or not for each equipment is decided through inspection results which are total expected cost and equipment conditions. To solve the optimal problem, the dynamic programming (DP) was used.
