Weak Porous Interface in Ceramic Layered Systems

The forming of ceramic composite in the configuration of layered system with weak interfaces is one of the easiest ways to fabricate stronger and tougher ceramic components. In the present work, we extended our previous work on the study of fracture behavior of alumina layered systems to investigate the effect of thickness ratio on the fracture energy difference and the crack deflection mechanism. The dynamic property of the layered system was also tested and discussed.
