Tuning Document Based Hierarchies with Generative Principles

In this paper I describe how a moreconsistent and clearer hierarchy can be extracted for specific document collections.First, a hierarchy is automatically extracted from the terms in the documents.This hierarchy is extended with concepts and classifications from WordNet.I explain how this hierarchy can be improved using Generative lexicon principles in combination with the information on the term usage that is extracted from the documents.device ⇒ whole ⇒ object ⇒ artifact ⇒
