Mobile Services Architecture

Bernd Mrohs, Stephan Steglich · 2007

This chapter provides a global picture for future service provisioning and introduces an approach for the provisioning of next generation mobile services, enabling the services to be context-aware, personalised, and to support individuals and groups, while maintaining privacy. The basic service building blocks – the Mobile Services Reference Model – and a derived architecture specification with detailed functions – the Mobile Services Architecture – are specified, which are required for the operation of the envisioned services and applications. In addition, the chapter presents an exemplary approach how the identified service building blocks and the services can be realised (mapping on IMS), aspects of the service lifecycle management, and finally examinations and recommendations concerning scalability issues.
