A solution for switched rapid service delivery in 1991

R.M. Lund, Jordan Michael Wetzel · International Symposium on Switching · 2005

A number of architectural alternatives are available in the early 1990s to provide Rapid Service Delivery in the Network. The choice of which avenue to pursue is based on a combination of technical, business, and market factors. US WEST has chosen a direction based on a switch-adjunct architecture. This paper willprovide a view of the architecture, placing particular emphasis on the architectural components that are critical to the achievement of Rapid Service Delivery.
