Fuzzy Systems and Identification

Olaf Wolkenhauer · 2001

Concepts covered in this chapter include: Fuzzy clustering provides an effective way to identify fuzzy rule-based models from data. Various fuzzy model structures exist and can be distinguished in terms of their simplicity, interpretability and suitability in diverse problems such as classification, prediction and control. Fuzzy systems can be shown to be equivalent to the basis function expansion model.
